This exhibition – the first major survey dedicated to Keith Haring (1958–90) in the UK – takes a broad look at this versatile artist’s work, from his anti-apartheid and AIDS activism to his many collaborations with his artistic peers as well as musicians and fashion designers. The show also includes a number of large-scale paintings that have not been shown in the UK before, for which Haring drew on a range of influences including Pop art, abstraction, Chinese calligraphy and the graffiti of the New York streets.
