The Affichistes found inspiration in the tattered, torn posters and advertisements caught on walls throughout the streets of Rome and Paris. A new exhibition at the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt celebrates the movement, which despite being associated with the 1960s was in fact pioneered in the ’50s.
