For the past 15 years, the lawyer, advisor and collector Kayode Adegbola has demonstrated great commitment to the promotion of Nigerian art, working across the legal, public and cultural sectors to heighten exposure for both established and contemporary artists. As the director of Adegbola Art Projects, Adegbola has advised numerous companies and institutions on building their art collections; he is also the founder of The Vault Artist Residency, which provides studio space for emerging artists based in Lagos. In 2023 he set up the Ibeji Project to communicate his passion for traditional Yoruba twin carvings. In October 2025, Adegbola established the Adegbola Gallery in Lagos: its inaugural exhibition, ‘Heroes Past’ marked 65 years since Nigerian independence with a display of works by artists including Ben Enwonwu and Uche Okeke.
