María Paz Gaviria has been the director of ArtBo, Bogotá’s contemporary art fair, since 2012. Under her leadership, the fair has helped to increase the global profile of Colombia’s rich cultural scene, and has become one of the continent’s leading forums for Latin American and international art; at its 12th edition in 2016, ArtBo hosted 74 galleries from 28 cities around the world. Gaviria is an art historian who studied at Columbia University, New York, and is the daughter of the former Colombian president, César Gaviria.
