Since founding his eponymous gallery in Munich in 2020, Max Goelitz has drummed up major excitement for its conceptually rich and experimental exhibitions. A new 195 sqm home in the city was inaugurated this autumn with a solo exhibition by the London-based group Troika, ‘deception island’, which continues these artists’ disorienting yet compelling fusion of hi-tech with defunct analogue technologies. Goelitz also runs a gallery in Berlin; ‘Shells’, which brought together works by Haroon Mirza, Mona Schulzek and others to explore the thin line between concealment and revelation, ran there in spring 2025. The gallery’s presentation was a highlight of the Liste Art Fair in Basel this year, comprising a solo display by sculptor Lukas Heerich soundtracked by the Nigerian American poet Precious Okoyomon. Max Goelitz has also participated in Art Düsseldorf and Art Cologne.
