Art and Design in 1920s Sweden
The Roaring Twenties were a period of great cultural exchange in Sweden; the influence of avant-garde movements such as Cubism filtered in from abroad, while in the guise of exports such as the Ballets Suédois and Greta Garbo, modern Swedish culture became increasingly visible on the world stage. This exhibition at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm (24 February–28 August) brings together art, design, film and fashion in a broad survey of this tumultuous era, in which national traditions came up against a new cosmopolitanism.
