While some museums are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo’s usual weekly pick of exhibitions will include shows at institutions that are currently open as well as digital projects providing virtual access to art and culture.
Holy Week is almost upon us, and while Easter celebrations – short of an egg hunt at home – are curtailed by lockdown, the Oxford Bach Soloists are hosting their first ever Easter Festival online. The ensemble, led by Tom Hammond-Davies, has recorded some five hours of music, including Bach’s St John Passion, the Easter Oratorio and the Easter Cantatas, in Christ Church Cathedral and New College Chapel. The recordings will be aired online over four days from 2–5 April (and then available on demand until 30 April), with tickets from £10–£35. Find out more from the Oxford Bach Soloists’ website – or watch a trailer for the festival here.
