While some museums are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo’s usual weekly pick of exhibitions will include shows at institutions that are currently open as well as digital projects providing virtual access to art and culture.
As Europe emerged blinking from the shadow of the First World War and the Spanish flu pandemic, artistic expression bloomed across the continent. This exhibition at the Guggenheim Bilbao (7 May–19 September) looks at how the 1920s roared in cities from Berlin to Paris, Vienna and Zurich. Movements such as the Bauhaus, Dada, and New Objectivity are explored in depth, while the show also looks beyond the visual arts to theatre and fashion.
