Victor Ehikhamenor is an artist who has exhibited widely throughout Africa, Europe and the United States; in 2017. He has also become an important patron of the arts in Nigeria – underscored by the launch, in November 2025, of the Black Muse Art Festival in Benin City. The centrepiece is the opening of the Black Muse Sculpture Park – a public space for contemporary sculpture of international significance, crowned by the first in what is envisaged as an annual series of architectural pavilions. The park and the festival are realised under the aegis of the Angels and Muse non-profit arts organisation, which Ehikhamenor founded in 2018 and which works from spaces in Lagos and Benin City. Ehikhamenor has also proved an important voice in debates surrounding the restitution of Benin Bronzes from collections in Europe and the United States in recent years.
