Zoe Butt

In 2022 Zoe Butt founded the in-tangible institute, an organisation based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, that offers mentorships, educational programmes, fellowships and advice to curators – mostly in South East Asia but further afield too. Recent exhibitions on which the organisation has collaborated include ‘Living Another Future’, presented at the MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum in Chiang Mai and featuring work by artists including Sammy Baloji, Khvay Samnang and Liu Chuang. Prior to founding in-tangible, Butt was a MoMA curatorial fellow, co-curated the Sharjah Biennial in 2019 and has held the roles of artistic director at Factory Contemporary Arts Centre (2017–21) and executive director at Sàn Art (2009–16), both in Ho Chi Minh City. She is currently lead advisor (South East Asia and Oceania) at the Kadist Art Foundation.
