Commissioned in 1943 by Peggy Guggenheim for her New York City apartment, Mural is one of the pivotal works of 20th-century painting and marks a transitional period in Pollock’s career. The painting is newly restored by the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Getty Conservation Institute.
