Opening 3 November
The Menil Drawing Institute has been in operation since 2008, with the Menil Collection organising traveling exhibitions and conducting research projects, including the catalogue raisonné of Jasper Johns’ drawings. From 3 November, the Institute will have a permanent home – a new 30,000-square-foot building, designed by Johnston Marklee and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates – in which to display its substantial collection of drawings. Its inaugural exhibition, ‘The Condition of Being Here: Drawings by Jasper Johns’, will draw on this collection, exploring the artist’s full career through his works on paper. Find out more from the Menil Collection’s website.
