Co-founder, ART021, Shanghai
Shanghai-based entrepreneur David Chau started collecting art in 2003, developing passion for supporting young artists and galleries in the Asia Pacific region. He co-founded ART021 contemporary art fair in Shanghai in 2013; since its inception, the fair has become an integral part of the Shanghai International Arts Festival, providing a platform for the biggest galleries from China and the broader Asia Pacific region to exhibit alongside international behemoths like David Zwirner. ART021 expanded their offering in 2018 by launching JINGART fair in Beijing and DnA SHENZHEN design and art fair in 2021. Chau is also the founder of the non-profit Cc Foundation (2015), which provides project space and exhibition opportunities for emerging artists. He serves as a committee member of various institutions in China and abroad, including M+ Museum in Hong Kong, Tate Modern in London and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
