Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2025

The public and Royal Academicians alike can submit work to the world’s longest-running open exhibition

The Royal Academy of Art’s Summer Exhibition is the world’s oldest open-entry show. Anyone can submit their work to be considered for a spot in the Academy’s main galleries and courtyard. This year the exhibition includes some 1,200 works by amateurs, professional artists and Academicians across mediums such as painting, photography, sculpture and film (17 June–17 August). As in previous years, architectural works will also be included, but this is the first time they are being shown with the other pieces rather than in their own silo. Fittingly, the theme of this year’s show is ‘Dialogues’. Most of the works will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to the artists and the Royal Academy’s charitable activities.
