Mas­ter of Beau­ty: Karl Schenk­er’s Gla­m­orous Im­ages

The Mu­se­um Lud­wig is tak­ing the ac­qui­si­tion of some 100 pho­to­graphs by Karl Schenk­er (1886–1954) as an op­por­tu­ni­ty to re­dis­cov­er this once well-estab­lished artist. As a pho­to­g­ra­pher, il­lus­tra­tor, pain­ter, and oc­ca­sio­n­al de­sign­er of man­ne­quins, Schenk­er de­vot­ed him­self above all to the fe­male por­trait and to fashion pho­to­graphs.
