Pierre Soulages: Le Noir

Pierre Soulages has produced his signature large-scale black pictures since the 1970s. Soulages calls his radical expansion of black ‘outrenoir’, an unmistakable black with a variety of textures in its surface: variously smooth or fibrous, lightabsorbing or reflective. After the major exhibition of 1960 we now present Soulages’s latest works from 2015.
